A new year is upon us once more; January, the month for all things new, whether it be a resolution or a car… With a plethora of cars being released this year, you are inundated with choice when coming to invest in your next automobile; we have rounded up some of the most impressive cars set to grace the tarmac this year.

Ford GT

A truly innovative machine and the main reason that car enthusiasts wanted 2017 to come quicker than the year before, the Ford GT. Featuring a turbocharged V6 engine, EcoBoost technology, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and incredible aerodynamics, this really is the street car of dreams, and for most of us, will only ever be a distant wish. You can head to the ford website, to configure how your dream car would look; a great little feature from Ford.

Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport

An incredibly handsome car, the Insignia is taking the breath away from many onlookers. Re-named the Insignia Grand Sport, this model is 29mm lower, 11mm wider and 175kg lighter. With a wide range of specs to add, you are spoilt for choice; from LED matrix lighting to Vauxhalls 24hr personal call centre, OnStar; as featured in Horrible Bosses. Earlier Insignia models would suggest that the drive was not particularly exciting, however, this has all changed with the Grand Sport, expect a feeling of sportiness and a connection with the road that will ignite passion. Keyless entry and go will be standard, as well as OnStar, which will automatically contact emergency services in the event of a serious collision; a safe bet for your new best buy of 2017.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

It’s not often that an all-new Alpha Romeo is on the tip of everyone’s tongues (in an exciting way), but the somewhat anticipated Stelvio is smashing preconceptions surrounding the brand. With a lot of the foundations based on the previous Giulia, it’s expected to be just as good. This family-friendly SUV is powered by a similar engine to a Ferarri. Now, of course, this association is not one that either brand wants to be affiliated with, however, the Stelvio is inspired greatly by the Ferrari powerhouse. With a twin-turbocharged, 2.9 litre V6 engine under the hood, you’re going to have a lot of fun with this motor, all disguised with the safe ‘family car’ look.

Mini Countryman

A bestseller for Mini; this really is a tale of ‘looks aren’t everything’, with many still questioning the aesthetic of the Countryman, however, it’s undoubtedly a brilliant car. This second generation release is heading upmarket with an improved engine and a lot more tech. Arriving in February, it’s marketed as a car to have an adventure in and is the largest Mini to date, putting it alongside the Audi Q2 and Q3. Along with the update, the Countryman will be available with 5 engines, a plug-in hybrid version, which is a first for the brand, as well as two petrol and two Diesel options. With 80% of buyers opting for the Chili pack which adds LED lights, climate control, heated seats and the all-important leather seats, as well as including the standard sat-nav, 16-inch alloys, and parking sensors. This brand new model is set to be THE car of the year for many families.

With these incredible models on offer, you are spoilt for choice. 2017 is set to be a great year for car releases, so keep an eye out for the long line of releases heading our way.
