We are finally nearing a close on the winter months, with the summer looking more and more desirable by the day. Yearning for sun, blue skies and winding roads to break onto. With the warmer months soon to descend, car events are going to be the main focus for many; March to July will see a fully booked calendar for many like-minded car enthusiasts. We run through our top events set for 2017…it’s going to be a busy summer!.
Geneva Motor Show (9-19th March)
An event to really warm you up for the car fuelled season ahead; Geneva Motor Show is one of the largest international motor shows to take place. Founded in 1905, many cars are launched at the event each year, alongside 200 exhibitors from over 30 countries, showcasing both classic and brand new models. Expect to see some incredible reveals from the best car makers in the world; including Eadon Green who have revealed just a one-line drawing of it’s Black Cuilin, building up the excitement for us all, as well as the replacement for the McLaren 650S, and the Ferrari’s new F12 M. With so many super car reveals, we are expecting tickets to sell out incredibly fast, so be sure to get yours before it’s too late.
Le Mans (17-18th June)
This year will see the return of the legendary Le Mans 24 hour race, in its 85th year; it’s the world’s most famous endurance race. The pinnacle event of the sports calendar, featuring the best cars, driven by the most famous drivers over a 24 hour period. Enthusiasts flock from all over the globe to witness this thrilling race; with many in Europe driving their best engines to get to the track. The back two years have seen the Porsche 919 Hybrid take first place, will it top a third year? This is an event not to be missed; get your driving buddies together and cruise on down to the beautiful town of Le Mans.
Goodwood Festival of Speed (30 June -2nd July)
The most famous car event in the calendar, the Festival of Speed is held over a long weekend amongst the ground of the Goodwood Estate in Chichester. Celebrating motorsport in all it’s forms, from Edwardian classics, to the latest supercars to grace the tarmac. A celebrity filled event, you can witness the world’s best drivers side by side, racing the famous hillclimb; one of the narrowest, bumpiest courses, a real challenge for even the most accomplished drivers. Enjoy food, drink, fellow enthusiasts, supercar magnificence and a real life replica of Wacky races… there really isn’t anything else you could want from a motoring event.
Formula 1 British Grand Prix (14-16th July)
Head to the Silverstone track to witness the British Grand Prix with your own eyes, the three day spectacular is a celebration of all things motorsport, with the best cars and drivers on the track. With an opportunity to book a Pit Walk and explore the cars in the pit, whilst getting up close and personal with the teams behind the cars. Turn your weekend into a party with friends and watch from the grandstands in awe.
Silverstone Classic (28-30th July)
Return to Silverstone for more motoring fun with their spectacular historic motor event. Offering free access to the paddocks, grandstands and displays from over 100 car clubs, this is the ultimate classic car event. Featuring more than 10,000 classic cars over the weekend, plus interactive driving activities and dynamic demonstrations. With live music, headline acts, air displays, a vintage fun fair and a shopping village, it’s an event for the whole family; after a summer of motoring adventures, they may want to finally join you! Tickets are available at the reasonable price of £35.00
