We published an article a few weeks ago about the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show and looking back, it seems we may have jumped the gun, or laid the foundations for this one! A lot has happened over the past few weeks, with a host of manufactures teasing their latest releases and better yet, their concept creations. We love a concept car, I think everyone does, a possible sneak peak in to the future.
BMW kick off this article (image above), mainly because their car is just so futuristic we couldn’t ignore it. They will show the Vision Next 100 Concept at the show next week and when you see the photo below, you’ll see what we mean. The space travelling hyper car (we presume) comes with news that BMW plan to bring at least 25 electrified vehicle to our roads by 2025 – only eight years time. You can see another one of their creations, the MINI John Cooper GP Concept on our blogs page.
Volkswagen are in on the action after more detailed previews of a car from their upcoming ‘I.D’ range of electric vehicles. The I.D Crozz. Volkswagen say this is the closest concept yet to production model, and it shows. This actually looks somewhat like an updated, 10 years down the line version of their Tiguan, a Volkswagen body with and all electric engine. They plan to build the battery into the floor space so there is huge space for the interior features of the car that they describe as ‘lounge-like’.
Kia, a safe, standard car manufacturer, right? Better than the bus but not quite as good as VW, or a SEAT? Well, Kia are pulling a Fastback Concept out of their sleeves, it’s a next generation Pro_cee’d, and it is stunning. Similarly to the Volkswagen we just mentioned, it looks like a car that could well have been put into production and be a favourite on our roads in common years, though they’ve reportedly said this isn’t the case. Dare I say, the profile view photo kind of reminded us of the Zagato Sportback that we previewed a while back. Ish.
“The extended hot hatch styling retains the athleticism of the current Pro_cee’d model, while combining its striking visual presence with a dash of real-world versatility,” Kia said in a statement. “Reworked and re-imagined for a new generation of driver, it puts forward a bold vision for a potential member of the next-generation Cee’d family.”
Finally in our article of crazy current concept cars we have the Jaguar Future-Type. Future being an appropriate word for this creation. It’s been designed with the possible future of fully autonomous shared summonable cars. It could act as a pod that you would demand, like a taxi, to pick you up from one location and take you to another, without the use of a driver. With this particular car you buy the steering wheel, and this acts as a member shit to the club, where you can summon a car without actually owning one.
So could you see yourself in any of these cars? Is there any that we haven’t mentioned that you prefer to them all? Let us know in the comments!
