Which fonts are road legal as I have seen many on my travels.

There are 4 road legal printed fonts which are, Black, Highline, Carbon, And
3D. All of these are available in our plate builder .

These Fonts are Legal as they are the correct size and also the correct Charles Wright Font. And they appear only on the correct BS standard reflective background. They must also be spaced correctly.

Also the New pressed Aluminium plates are all the legal Charles Wright Font.

How can i space my registration?

To mis-space or mis-represent the digits on number plates is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Registration & Licensing) Regulations 1971. Be sure to enter your registration number correctly because the finished number plates will be made to the same spacing you enter into our plate builder. Be sure to enter your registration number as shown on your Tax Disc, Log Book (V5) or DVLA document V796 (available in pdf on the web). This applies to number plates only and not novelty plates (names etc …).

Very Important. You cannot simply make up a registration number and use it on the UK highway. Either yourself or the person you’re buying for must already own the registration number you will use. Number1Plates do not sell registration numbers, we simply make number plates.

You can space your registration exactly as you would like and it will be made as you see online, but to be Road compliant you will only need to add one space in the registration and in the correct location. We leave the choice up to you as you know your Registration Number better than us.

Please See The Example’s Below.

12   Incorrect Spacing11   Incorrect Spacing10   Incorrect Spacing9   Correct Spacing

The size I need is not there can you assist me.

No problem if the size you see is not there we will make it, Please call or email us for

more info.

Do you take telephone orders.
We sure do, Please call and speak to one of our friendly staff.

Will you send plates to a different address to the card holder.
We are sorry but we cannot as this is helping fuel vehicle fraud and card fraud and is
there for your protection to protect you and you’re vehicle.

How long do I have to cancel my order.
Unfortunately we cannot cancel or stop orders as our systems instantly generate the plate
film as soon as the payment screen is complete and the details you enter are unique so the
product is unable to be resold, so please enter and check the details thoroughly.

Do you ship abroad.

Yes, of course. We have many happy customers from all around the world (e.g. France, Spain,
Italy, Germany, Australia, USA, Canada and many more). Please call or email us to find a
current price for delivery as they keep changing.

Do you discount for regular, trade, or bulk orders.
Yes of course we do, please call or email so we can discuss you’re requirements.

I want a really different novelty sign or Show plate can you help.
Yes of course we can, please call or email so we can discuss you’re requirements. But Please be advised we do not sell show plates that are out of legal requirements and we will use our discretion to decide wether or not the novelty plate designed is going to be for road use. We will happily make a show novelty plate saying “John’s Room” or “Keep Out” but not a Vehicle Registration Mark.

Do you make the vintage style Black & Silver plates.
We sure do and they are made from plastic acrylic mirror plate with Black film over. Very nice vintage look.

Can I order just 1 plate or multiple sets.
Yes of course just add to the basket 1 plate only then you can add 2 more sets or 3 or 7
etc.

Can I order accessories without buying a plate.

Yes of course just bypass the plate building process to the last option open it up select
the accessories you want and add them to the basket and away you go. Easy as that.!!!!

Do your plates include your legal details.
They certainly do in tiny writing at the bottom right of the screen. The details are
“NUMBER1PLATES LS20 9BA BSAU 145d” . This is a legality  as it means the police or authorities can check if
they are genuine and your vehicle will pass the MOT check. We do not use this for
advertising that’s why we keep it so small.

Show Plates.

Show Plates generally means illegal Number Plates. If you’re looking for illegal number plates then Number1Plates is not the place for you. There are a great many less reputable purveyors out there. Many work from their bedrooms and sell illegal number plates on Ebay. Other shady sellers claim to work from outside the UK in order to avoid DVLA laws. You’ll find their web sites show no telephone number or a legitimate UK address. These guys will sell you all the illegal plates you want and they will not ask you for ID or a valid DVLA document which shows you have a right to number plates showing your registration number. Be careful because you may finish up throwing your money down the drain with no chance of getting your money back from an illegal trader.

Do I Need To Send In Documents.

Yes!!!!!!!

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE IS NOT DIFFICULT ITS JUST WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO TELL THE DVLA AND OTHER AUTHORITIES IF ASKED WHO BOUGHT WHAT PLATES.

TOO MANY PEOPLE IN THE PAST ON OTHER SITES  HAVE JUST MADE UP A REGISTRATION NUMBER AND STUCK IT ON THERE VEHICLE.

SO ALL WE NEED TO SEE IS THAT YOU ARE A REAL HUMAN ie NOT JUST MAKING UP A NAME & THAT IT’S A REAL VEHICLE OR REGISTRATION ie AGAIN NOT JUST A MADE UP ONE.

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL THAT THE LOGBOOK IS IN THE SAME NAME AS THE PURCHASER,

FOR EXAMPLE,   WE SELL MANY PLATES TO GARAGES AND ALL WE NEED IS TO SEE THE PERSON WHO IS ACTUALLY BUYING THE PLATE’S  ID AT THE GARAGE AND THE LOG BOOKS FOR THE VARIOUS VEHICLES THEY WANT PLATES FOR BUT DONT ACTUALLY OWN.

We know this can be a real pain but we do need to comply with the law. So we need to see the original  before we can dispatch your order.
