September’s round up of second hand car deals!

Spotted! September’s round up of the best deals!

We go car shopping so you don’t have to. It’s a hard life.

New bargain buy: MG3 Form Sport

AutoExpress are awash with handy articles explaining which dealers are currently offering the best deals on small cars. While it’s great that you can get your hands on a Skoda Fabia or Peugeot 108 for less than £99 per month, it’s not really going to cut it when you’ve got a passion for sports models and leg room.

However the MG3 Form Sport is one such ‘bargain buy’ which regularly pops up in the small car countdown despite its slightly more sporty credentials. To get it down to £99 per month, you’ll need to put a chunky £3,752.22 deposit down, but the MG3 manages to redeem this through those little ‘quality’ touches that make all the difference.

With 16 inch alloy wheels, sleek sill insert and chrome tailpipe, it’s much more in the ‘hot hatch’ category as opposed to the ‘city car’ box.

Best cheap insurance for young drivers: Corsa Limited Edition & Excite

Free insurance is always a nice little perk thrown in with a new buy but unfortunately, as all young drivers will testify, if you’re south of 25 then these juicy freebies are whipped away. Off to Churchill or Admiral (and the like) to pay 2K.

Vauxhall’s super cheap insurance deal is seriously tempting, offering 18-20 year olds 1 year’s free insurance with their Corsa Limited Edition or Corsa Excite. It’s very comprehensive too, with plenty of handy additional benefits and the promise that your car will be repaired at a Vauxhall approved repairer.

Young ‘uns will get a courtesy car during repairs, up to 14 days full policy cover when in other EU countries, personal belongings cover and personal accident cover. Basically if your prized TomTom gets locked in your kid’s car and subsequently nicked, Vauxhall will cover it.

If you’re in the market for a Vauxhall in general, keep checking back for good deals. There are some great savings to be had but they usually only last for a limited period.

Best used car deposit contribution: Audi (A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8)

You’ll have to be quick as this offer ends on the 30th September. You’ll need to read the small print too, as the chunky deposit saving might not work out cheaper in the long run. Audi are offering a £1,000 deposit contribution on the A6, A7 and A8, a £750 contribution on the A4 and A5 and a £500 contribution towards the A3. The offer applies to cars over two years’ old, with an 11.9% APR representative.

If you’re in the market for a slightly used Audi then the deal is tempting. However 11.9% isn’t that tempting, so do shop around before sealing the deal.

The 7 year warranty: Kia

This isn’t really anything new – Kia are renowned for their 7 year warranty, but it’s the best around so always worth a mention in any ‘best deal’ roundups. The warranty applies to all models registered on or from the 1st of January 2010. In a nutshell, Kia attribute their confident warranty to ‘advanced production facilities’, ‘production techniques’ and some very vigorous testing.

Owners also get 12 months’ free roadside assistance and the warranty can be transferred to new owners. This means that even if you get a 5 year old second hand Kia, you can still benefit from 2 years’ of warranty – just make sure you get hold of any relevant docs from the previous owner.

Best discount – the Skoda Fabia Hatch SE 1.2

Was £12,580, now £9,595 with a tasty 20% off.

It’s no bog standard basic either with metallic paint, 15” alloy wheels, a free spare wheel, additional rear speakers, manual air conditioning, tinted glass, electric door mirrors and remote central locking.

The deal ends on 30th September, so get down to your local dealership to iron out the details.
